Fiber Build
What is a fiber build? In telecommunications, a fiber build is sometimes required to deliver large bandwidth if fiber does not exist into the building. This is applicable to data services greater than a DS3 connection. Under certain circumstances, the telecommunications provider will pay for the fiber build at no cost with a contingency upon getting all of the new service that would ride the new fiber. This allows the service provider to capture new revenue and profitability to offset the cost of the fiber build. This results in a win-win situation for both the carrier and the customer.
